Introducing...Dirt!

Picture Spring is finally here! The glacier is gone and the crocuses have bloomed. The goldfinches and juncos are back at the feeder, and Evan got to play in the dirt for the first time. Spring is always welcome, but especially after such a long, snowy winter. We haven't had a lot of warm days, but we're taking advantage of the ones that we do have.

Friday night we walked down to Casita Azteca and ate at a picnic table while Evan slept in his stroller. We hit up Mt. Tom Ice-Cream and then headed home...all before it was dark out. Ahhh....I am looking forward to a summer full of long walks and hikes, visits to the farm, campfires and music, and a new season of home-improvement projects.

On a less tranquil note...we decided to nix the pacifier this week. Before now, I don't think we realized how much we depended on the little sucker. Evan has been doing great, but there are those times when he is just tired and upset and I know it would make him feel better if he could just have the pacifier. Then I wonder...why are we so bent on getting rid of it anyway? Plenty of kids (including me) have pacifiers and grow up to be just fine). Second guessing yourself seems to come with the parenting territory.
